Joe and I have been married since 1970. We have 2 daughters that live close to us along with 3 beautiful granddaughters ranging in ages of 10 to 13. We started riding way back when we were younger on as my grandchildren call “small bikes”. After getting sore butts, we decided it was time for a Goldwing. Our first one was a black 1981 GL1100, then graduated to a blue 1986 GL1200. In 1991 we saw a beautiful black GL1500 Aspencade at Americade and fell in love. We had it chromed from front to the back, had a paint job of wolves plus hundreds of lights placed on it. We rode through all 48 states on our Black Magic, thus the number plate that state ALL48.
In 1998, we bought another black GL1800 goldwing, but kept the 1991 one just in case. Our Black Magic was still Joe’s favorite of all bikes. In 2001 we decided to change things around. We bought a blue goldwing and sell the 1998, keeping the 1991 for a few more years. As of the current year, we still have the blue 2001 but we turned it into a trike. But that doesn’t stop there. We also have two Valkyries in the garage keeping the Trike company. The Valkyrie also toured seven Caribbean islands with us with Royal Caribbean.
We joined GWRRA in 1989, not knowing much about it until 1990, when we heard that someone wanted to start up a new chapter in the Worcester area. Still not knowing much about what it’s all about, we went to the meeting where we became Charter members of “Ma W”. Since that time, we have been Assistant Chapter “W” Directors, Chapter “W” Directors, Mass. District Directors, and “Senior District Directors”. We thought that was it for us, until the Regional Director of “B” came to us and asked if we wanted to help him with the New England part of the Northeast Region B. We became the Assistant Region Directors for Region B. Once again Chapter “W” was looking for a Director and we took that position for a year. This brings you to the present position of Region MEC.
