Couple of the Year Coordinators & Chapter of the Year Coordinators

We joined GWRRA in Sep. 2001. We were Chapter participants with NJ-C. At that point in time we rode a 750 Shadow but soon purchased a 1977 1200 Gold Wing Aspencade. We quickly became Chapter Ride Coordinators then we moved up to Chapter Educator. It was at this point in time that we were asked to become NJ-I Chapter Directors. Later, the Chapter gave us the honor and the best position in GWRRA, that of Chapter Couple of the Year. At the following NJ District Rally we became District Couple of the Year.
In these two positions we visited many Districts in the Region, attended Wing Dings and attended Region K’s Rally. At the NY Rally in Newark, NY, we were selected the NE Region Couple of the Year. It was around this time frame we purchased a 1994 1500 Gold Wing Aspencade with a matching Escapade trailer. The District and Region Selections were a complete surprise to us, we did not anticipate being selected at either level. Shortly after our Region Selection, Lorraine and Earl asked us to become the NE Region Couple of the Year Coordinators. It goes without saying we have thoroughly enjoyed this position.

We have met many members throughout GWRRA. We have had “FUN” working with the various District Couples of the Year, preparing them for the Region Couple of the Year Selection Process. We became Chapter Participants of NJ – I and NJ- D and participated in the National Couple of the Year Selection Process at Wing Ding 30 in South Carolina. We were not selected by the judges but it was an experience that no one can take away from us. Again, we have had “FUN” throughout this entire process.

Our next position in GWRRA was that of NJ District Chapter of the Year Coordinators. It was during this position that NJ – G became not only District Chapter of the Year but also NE Region B Chapter of the Year. Shortly after this announcement, we received another phone call from Lorraine & Earl, asking us to step up to the NE Region B Chapter of the Year Coordinators. We felt we could fill both positions due to the fact on a visit any where when we are promoting the Couple of the Year program we can also promote the Chapter of the Year program.

We have stepped down from the NJ District Chapter of the Year Coordinators position. Our most recent position that just started earlier this month is Chapter Director of NJ-C. Will we be able to handle all 3 positions you bet we can. We have a fantastic staff at the Chapter level, that takes a lot of pressure off of us.

Now, that we are up to the present, we have two Daughters both of whom are married. And we have 5 Grandchildren whom we enjoy spoiling very much then sending them home to their parents.
