Let me introduce myself...

My name is Lori Norris Schill. I live in Clarion, Pennsylvania where I work in the IT/Systems Department of Clarion University of Pennsylvania’s Carlson Library. You could say that I had my “mid-life crisis” in 2004. That’s when I bought my first bike – a Honda VT600C Shadow! I rode it for two summers before I purchased a 1992 Goldwing that developed a shifter fork problem in 2011. So I found a new (my current) bike...a 1996 Goldwing SE that is a beautiful “Barbados Blue Metallic” color.

I met Gary Schill through motorcycling and we became very good friends. In May of this year, I married my best friend! Gary rides a 1988 Kawasaki Voyager XII and together we have ridden to Rapid City, South Dakota (2007), Santa Fe, New Mexico (2009), New York between Niagara Falls and Ellicottville (2010), Blue Ridge Parkway Route to South Carolina – including a trip up The Tail of The Dragon in Tennessee (2011), not to mention the highways and byways of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York that we frequently travel on day trips! We’ve even earned spots in the Iron Butt Association by completing the Saddle Sore Ride in 2010. With friends from Chapter PA-I, we finished a 1,080-mile ride in 22 hours!

Although I had joined GWRRA in 2005, I didn’t become active in Pennsylvania Chapter I until 2009. Since then, Gary and I have been enjoying Chapter life and are trying to “give back” by lending our computer and web “expertise” to Chapter I, their programs, and events. We are serving as Newsletter Elves (i.e., “helpers” to the Editor), Advertising Coordinators, and (in January 2012) I accepted the role of Chapter Educator/Motorist Awareness Coordinator.

At the 2013 Pennsylvania District Convention in Gettysburg, Region B Director, Tom Wasluck, told me that the Region was without a newsletter editor, and asked if I could handle the job. So here I am...ready, willing, and able (I hope) to produce an easy-to-read newsletter that will make us all proud!
